Ready to make a difference?

Island Stewards is looking for an energetic, passionate, skilled, and dedicated individual to assist in creating a campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to educate and empower residents to understand, act and resolve critical issues regarding the quality of life for locals, part time property owners, and visitors. The flagpole for these discussions is the update to San Juan County’s Comprehensive Plan, the legal document that maps out the future of the san juan archipelago.

San Juan County, while charged with the responsibility of crafting this update, is neither asking the right questions nor creating a forum for conversations about this somewhat obscure, largely ignored, and more or less toothless document that nevertheless determines the ground rules for our collective future.

Island Stewards campaign is intended to fill this information gap. The job description follows; it is also available as a pdf file here.
